Girl’s Program

1st and 2nd Grade Classes: For 6,7 & 8 year olds to learn beginning to intermediate gymnastic skills. Instructors will work with your child’s skill level, teaching them proper form, correct start/finish positions, and how to make corrections. Girls will tumble every class, and will work on uneven bars, beams and vault on a week-to-week basis. Trampoline, tumble track and pit will be included most weeks. Gymnastics builds strength in muscles not always used in other sports, so in addition to building balance and coordination, this class will help your child achieve their best in other sports.

3rd thru 6th Grade class: For the older child to attend with their peers. This class extends from beginner to intermediate levels, working with each child at their own level of development. Balance, coordination, body strength and discipline will be stressed on beams, uneven bars and vault. Body motion through jumps and leaps will be taught on the trampoline and tumble-track. Individual ‘work stations’ at each event, along with instructor praise and encouragement, promotes self-motivation for older girls.

Jr. Tumbling Classes:  (6 yr. old – 6th grade)

This class focuses solely on tumbling skills, including handstands, cartwheels, round-offs and flip-flops. This class is for the child who wishes to pursue cheerleading, or build strength and coordination using spotting and self-help stations, plus tumble-track and trampoline.

Tumble / Cheer Class:  (7th grade – high school) Need that flip-flop for cheerleading? This is the perfect class to learn tumbling skills from a handstand through a back tuck and back layout. Instructors work at individual child’s pace, using spotting, self-help stations, trampoline and tumble-track to strengthen your (future) cheerleader’s tumbling skills!

Preschool (all coed)

Parent/Tot class: 50 minute, structured gymnastics class for 2-3 year olds, accompanied by parent or other significant adult. Children will work on beam, bars, vault and floor, acquiring tumbling skills, strength, balance, coordination and social skills. Fun on the trampoline, tumble track and in the pit will also be included. 18 mo. – 3 yrs. old.

3-4 Year Old class: 50 minute class for the 3 or 4-year-old child to attend alone. We will be working on tumbling skills weekly; uneven/parallel bars, balance beams and vault week to week. This class concentrates on building large and small muscles, balance and coordination. Another focus will be learning new social skills, sharing equipment and instructor time without a parent.

4-5 Year Old class: 50 minute class geared towards older 4’s and younger 5’s. More time will be devoted to correct gymnastic positions and tumbling. Bars, beam and vault will be incorporated weekly, with stations for children to work on their own and with the instructor. Trampoline, tumble-track and/or pit will also be used weekly. The aim is to build self-esteem with and “I can do it myself!” attitude, along with repetition, praise and encouragement. This class will build strength, balance, coordination and gymnastics discipline in a fun and friendly setting.

5 /6 Year Old class: 50 minute class teaches correct tumbling skills, and beginning skills on uneven and parallel bars, balance beam, vault, trampoline and tumble-track. This class moves faster than our 4 / 5 year class. Balance, coordination, strength and muscle control are the focus, with an emphasis on learning to use the equipment and our bodies correctly, while having fun.

Boy’s Program   (taught by male instructors)

5-6 Year Old Boys: 1 hour class for kindergarten boys that focuses on learning men’s gymnastic form and skills. Includes strength training and conditioning to build muscle the correct way. Parallel bars, high bar, pommel, vault and coordination activities will be the focus. Trampoline and tumble-track will be included weekly.

6-9 Year Old Boys: Beginning boys’ program will include tumbling, rings, parallel bars, pommel, high bar and vault, with plenty of strength training and balance activities along the way. Trampoline and tumble-track provided weekly. Instructors work at each child’s individual level, stressing proper form and discipline.

Instructor Choice Classes

The following classes are for the child who needs more challenge than the beginning classes offer. Instructor approval required.

Little Big Shots: (3-4 year olds) Exceptional strength, balance and coordination, as well as good listening / focus skills will be required for this class. Little Big Shots will work on start and finish positions, and correct tumbling form. Uneven bars, balance beams and vault will be used week to week, and children will be asked to demonstrate gymnastics discipline on a daily basis.

Big Shots: (5-6 year olds – Kindergarten) This class is for the child who has acquired a certain amount of tumbling skills in previous classes, and shown good listening/focus skills to their previous instructors. The focus will be on fine-tuning tumbling skills and improving form. Week to week work will be done on uneven bars, balance beam, vault and floor, including work (and play) on the trampoline, pit, and tumble-track.

Instructor Invite: (1st – 6th grade) Requirements include: handstand, cartwheel, round-off, backbend kick-over, strength on bars, and balance on beam. This fun, progressive

class focuses on harder tumbling skills, beginning with the above requirements and introducing more difficult skills on beam and bars.

Developmental Programs

 (Instructor invite only)

Big Dreamers:  1 hour 15 minutes, twice weekly. In this pre-developmental team program, we focus on specific tumbling, bar and beam skills to begin your child’s journey towards our competitive girl’s team. Your child will be at this level for at least a year, so commitment to the sport must be considered. When your child acquires the skills, discipline and desire, plus shows exceptional listening and focus skills, they may then be moved to the next program.

Big Stars:  2 hours, twice weekly. This developmental team program is meant to be a year long lead into our team program, learning skills needed to compete at Level 4. Poise, balance, tumbling, bar, beam and vault skills will be stressed. This program is the beginning of great gymnastics skills, self-esteem, and wonderful friendships!
